Welcome
In order to meet the 2020 target, the increase in wind energy is immense. If the 2020 target is to be met, the Renewables Advisory Board (RAB), which provides advice to the Government has estimated that this will have to increase to 36.5% or 88.6% of total renewable energy generation in the UK.
If these targets are to be met, then the amount of electricity to be generated by wind farms will have to increase from 4,225 GWh in 2006 and 87,000 GWh in 2020. This is more than 20 times greater than the amount currently generated.
